Number 88:
Spider-Man & the Black Cat: the Evil that Men Do #3 (Marvel – 2002)
Cover art by Terry Dodson
Inked by Rachel Dodson
Another great Terry & Rachel Dodson masterpiece comes in at number 88. I love the logo and typography used on this limited series almost as much as the art itself. It has a classy sort of old Hollywood style to it. This is of course almost pure cheese-cake but it’s irresistible. The stark blacks and odd contrasting of the reds and blue of Spider-Man’s suit give this an almost animation cell look. Odd but effective.
Check back in tomorrow for number #87 in the count-down of my Top 100 favorite covers.
I’ve seen too much cheesecake in comics over the years. I find I enjoy very little of it. I would’ve been happier if Black Cat had her zipper up. And if her chest was reduced a couple sizes.

They could be a little smaller…..BUT they are balanced fairly well with her hips. What I don’t like are the “Greg Land Women” with HUGE boobs and a tiny waist with no hips whatsoever.
